Privacy

RefiBreak is designed so that your privacy is the default, not a setting you have to find. This page explains what we do and do not collect, and how advertising works on the site.

What we collect

The calculator performs all math inside your browser using JavaScript. The loan balance, rates, terms and closing costs you enter are processed on the page and are never sent to our servers. We do not operate a backend that receives your inputs, and we do not require an account.

Cookies and similar technologies

Like most websites, RefiBreak may use cookies. These fall into a few categories:

• Strictly necessary cookies — required for the page to function. These do not track you across sites.
• Third-party advertising cookies — if advertising is enabled, our ad partner (Google AdSense) may set cookies to show relevant ads.
• The DoubleClick cookie — Google’s advertising cookie may be used to serve ads based on your prior visits to this and other sites.

Third-party vendors and ad personalization

Google and other third-party vendors may use cookies, including the DoubleClick cookie, to serve ads based on your visit. You can opt out of personalized advertising in two ways: by visiting Google Ads Settings, and by opting out of many third-party vendors through the aboutads.info choices page (also reachable at www.aboutads.info).

Analytics

If analytics is enabled, it aggregates anonymous usage (such as which calculator is used most) to help us improve the site. It is not used to identify you, and you can block it with standard browser tools.

Your choices

You can clear cookies in your browser at any time, and you can browse the calculator without enabling personalized ads. Because all calculations happen on your device, disabling scripts only stops the calculator — your data is never at risk of upload regardless.

Data retention

Because your inputs never leave your device, we retain none of your personal financial information. There is no server log of what you calculated, no profile built from your sessions, and no account to delete. If you email us a question, we keep that message only as long as needed to reply.

Children

This site is not directed to children, and we do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 13. The calculator requires no personal information to use, and we never ask for names or ages.

Links to other sites

Pages may link to external resources such as Google’s ad or opt-out pages. Those sites have their own privacy practices; we are not responsible for their content or policies. Read their notices before submitting information to them.

Security

Running all calculations on your own device is itself a safeguard: there is no transmission for an attacker to intercept. We serve the site over HTTPS so the page you load cannot be tampered with in transit. We cannot, however, protect a device that is already compromised — keep your browser and system up to date.

Changes to this policy

We may revise this policy as the site evolves. Material changes will be reflected on this page with a revised date. Continued use of the site after a change constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
